Direct employment instead of a care company.
Up to ₪10,000 saved a year.
The benefit paid as cash to your account instead of agency hours. You choose the person, pay them directly and remain the employer — the paperwork, contract, agency registration and Bituach Leumi are ours.
An estimate, not an offer. Figures as of April 2026.
Three ways to arrange the same care
The same caregiver, the same benefit. The difference is who holds the contract and who takes a margin.
| Care company | Direct, on your own | Direct, with us | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who finds the caregiver | The company, from its own pool | You | Us, from an open database |
| Choice of the specific person | Limited | Full | Full |
| Who handles the paperwork | The company | You | Us |
| Who runs payroll | The company | You | Us |
| Holiday cover | Whoever is left over | Your problem | Booked in advance |
| Your time | Minimal | A great deal | Minimal |
| Total monthly cost | 30–60% higher | Lowest | Lower than the company |
What the cash benefit is
The Bituach Leumi long-term care benefit can be taken in two forms: as services, where a care company sends a worker for a set number of hours, or as cash paid into the recipient's bank account so the family employs someone directly. The second is almost always better value, because you are not paying the company's margin.
Five conditions
- The recipient is an Israeli resident at retirement age or above
- A dependency level has been assessed by Bituach Leumi
- The caregiver works at least six days a week and at least twelve hours a day, is over 18 and is not a family member
- A foreign worker must be registered with a licensed private agency and hold a Ministry of Interior work permit
- A written employment contract sets out the hours and the pay
