Why this exists

Israel has 1.28 million people over 65, and around 370,000 of them receive care at home. There are not enough caregivers: the shortfall is estimated at 14,000–20,000 people, and the average search for a replacement runs to seven months. Meanwhile families pay care companies half again to twice as much for the same work.

We are built differently. We do not keep workers on staff and we do not take a cut of their wages. Our job is to find a particular person for a particular family, verify their documents and references, and get the paperwork right.

How we differ from a care company

A care company sends whoever is free and adds a margin every month. Under direct employment the family is the employer: you choose the person, pay them directly and receive the Bituach Leumi benefit as cash. We do the matching and the paperwork without standing between you and the caregiver.

How we differ from a listings site

On a listings site you pay for access to phone numbers and take it from there — calling, checking, filing. Here there is a person in the loop who does that for you and is accountable for the outcome, including a free replacement if the match does not work in the first three months.

For families abroad

This is the case we largely exist for. Adult children of Israelis live in New York, Berlin, Toronto and Moscow while their parents stayed here. We work in their time zone and their language, accept payment by a card from their country, and send a weekly update on how their parents are doing.

What we do not do

We take no money from caregivers — not for listing a profile, not for placement, at no stage. That is what the law requires and we think it is right. We do not publish profiles of people without a valid work permit. And we do not promise 'guaranteed approval' of a benefit or a permit: those decisions belong to the state, not to us.
